It started, so they say with a piece of bread, soon topped with ham or cheese, and balanced over a glass, to keep anything from getting into the drink. The word tapa means to cover. Tapas were once free snacks included in the price of a drink. La Casa offers old world tapas and wine with a fusion flair in the heart of Shadyside.
